Teacher Notes for this week

Dans la classe de Mr. Chartrand:

Grade 1/2

In Social Studies, the Grade 2’s are presenting their Country Projects.  Both groups will be introduced to online mapping and locating their neighbourhood and city landmarks. The Grade 1’s will be creating a 3d model of an urban community and label the buildings and who works in them.

our community

In French, we will begin a new sound the “eu/eur/oeur” this week. Our story will be

“Devine un peu”. In reading, we are continuing on life cycles: “la vie sur l’étang – the life cycle of a frog” and we will also read “Les graines poussent”.

la vie

In the classroom, Benchmarking and word wall word testing is ongoing. All of the Grade 2’s are reading at or close to grade level. Almost all of the grade 1’s are accessing text. We will see the last of the word wall words in April and May June will be a review. We will continue to practice book concepts and comprehension.

The words wall words for this week are:

par(by) tout (all) homme (man) femme (woman)

* Please practice the words at home and continue reading with your child.

Grade 4 (Immersion)

Ms Rupnik’s Class:
This short week, we will take our Lenten class flower project down from our bulletin board and reflect on all our small services and acts of love.  All the petals will be sent home.  Please read each of them with your child. In our Social Language program, we will role-play knowing how you feel and saying how you feel. You may want to practise this skill at home too.
