  1. Orkidstra We have started this program at St. Anthony.  The Orkidstra program is based on a program started in 1997 by Dr José Antonio Abreu.  The Venezuelan program has helped thousands of children in underprivileged areas to acquire instruments, receive music training and experience the joy of playing and singing with others in orchestras and choirs. Today El Sistema involves over 400,000 children and young people and it has inspired programs all over the world. Ottawa’s OrKidstra music initiative is the oldest of such programs outside of South America.  We have 14 students enrolled in the program and we are very excited to have this program here at St. Anthony.
  1.  November 30th AssemblyWe Help Each Other – On November 30th, we will be hosting Pierangela Pica and Angela Ierullo and other organizers of the St. Anthony Gala.  The Gala raised $25,000.00 for the school’s greening project in September.  The assembly gives us the opportunity to thank Pierangela for creating our school song – We Help Each Other.  We are playing this song every day at school to get ready for the assembly.  Angela Ierullo will also be honoured for all the work she did organizing the Gala Fundraiser.

we help each other

We Help Each Other

Step by step You’re one of a kind

Day by day

Keep that in mind

We help each other

Each time you start

Along the way

A brand new day

Building tomorrow

Put out your hand

Reach for the stars

Hang on to mine

Be true to yourself

We’ll help each other

Shine wherever you are

We’ll be just fine

CHORUS

This is your time Your roots are your gift

This is your place  To share everyday

We are a family You make a difference

Stand tall with pride Along the way

It’s your community You are an ocean

Whatever tomorrow brings Of colour and light

You can do anything You are the music

Just believe in yourself  Making everything bright

And hold onto your dreams

  1.  TechnologyWe have received a $3000.00 grant from Telus to purchase materials for our makerspaces.  The money will be split between the learning commons maker space and the science makerspace.  We are very excited about this partnership with Telus and we hope this is something we can continue in the future.  We are in the process of purchasing more chromebooks with our own money.  We will not be receiving any computers from the board this year.

  1.  Christmas celebrationwe will be having a sing-along on the last day before Christmas.  This event will be planned by the teachers and the School Council – all parents are welcome to this event.starr gymnastics
  2. Future ProgramsIn February we will be starting the STARR Gymnastics program.  This is a great program for kids and every student will get four sessions with the STAR Gymnastics instructors.  After the program finishes, we will offer a lunch-time gymnastics program for students who would like to continue their gymnastics training.  The lunchtime program will be subsidized for all parents who require one.
  3. Christmas Food HampersHoly Trinity High School will again be helping us by providing family support at Christmas.  This year, instead of hampers, we will be providing gift cards to families in need.  We will be contacting families over the next few days to find out what store they would like their gift card to come from.  If you are in need of some assistance, please let us know by calling the school.  We are also working to make sure all our students have the appropriate winter wear for the coming cold months.  If you need boots, hats or snowsuits, please let us know and we will arrange for you to get what you need.

November Teacher Report – Parent Council, November 26, 2015

Girls and Boys Volleyball

  • Both teams attended tournaments at St. George Catholic School and represented St. Anthony very well, both in terms of their skills (both teams won 5 out of their 7 games) and team spirit!

Pedestrian Safety Presentations

  • A School crossing guard visited and reviewed the rules of street safety – in particular crossing at the lights, ensuring eye contact with drivers and staying within the white lines of the crossing area.

Remembrance Day Celebration

  • Various classes presented poems they had learned, in both English and French. It was the 100th anniversary of the poem “In Flanders Field” so special attention was given to this work. Mr. McGuire live-streamed the ceremony from the War Museum.

Waste Audit

  • This week St. Anthony Catholic School held the first school wide waste audit for the 2015-2016 school year. With the help of several students and staff, we gathered garbage, recycling, and compost materials for a 24 hour period. We then weighed the clear plastic garbage bags and filled in the worksheets, assessing all the data visually. The results indicate that we are doing very well with the compost (food waste and organics measured at 90%) and recycling (paper, cardboard, and newsprint measured at 80%). Garbage was the area we can improve on this school year. In the garbage bags, we found materials that can be composted like food leftovers, pencil shavings. We also found “boomerang” items. These are things that students are encouraged to bring back home for recycling such as yogurt/fruit/jello cups, plastic spoons, and juice boxes. We will have another school wide waste audit in the winter months and hope to see some improvement in the area of garbage.
  • Students from the Green Club will present the findings at our next assembly.
  • Anthony is working on the eco-school application in the hopes of achieving silver status..or maybe even gold!

Looking at Pictures Presentation

  • The Grades 1, 2, 3 /4 and 5 / 6 attended in-school presentation from a volunteer from the National Gallery of Canada. She lead us on an interactive journey towards greater art appreciation using a number of visual art reproductions borrowed from the gallery.

Upcoming Advent Liturgies

  • 30 – 1:45 p.m.
  • December 7: 10:00 a.m.
  • December 14: 10:00 a.m.
  • During Advent we have an outreach project – this year each class will make cards for the residents of St. Vincent Hospital – a long term care facility in our community. Representatives from each class will bring the school cards to the hospital and enjoy a sing-along with residents at some point during the final week before holidays.

FDK News Week of November 23-27
Mrs. Draper’s Class

The FDK classes will begin to prepare for winter.  We will be hibernating bears this week in our very own bear cave.  Students can bring in a stuffed toy (hopefully, one that they are not to attached to) or one will be provided for them to walk to our bear cave.  We will place our stuffed animals in the cave and we will wait until Springtime to wake up our bears!
We enjoyed measuring, mixing and making muffins last week.  We also found out how to measure our feet and our hands.  Students enjoyed comparing their results and using cubes to show how long their feet and hands are.
We will also prepare for our Advent mass that will take place on Monday November 30, 2015 at 1:30pm in Learning Commons.
The FDK class will prepare a song to sing “Take a Walk to Christmas”.  We will send home the words for you to sing along at home too.
We look forward to preparing for this very special Advent Season!

Ms. Myers Grade One Class:

This week we continue our math unit on patterning. The “Wonderful Ones” will have opportunities to create, extend, represent, and record a variety of patterns and see how patterns help us make predictions and solve problems. We will discuss “attributes” of a pattern (things such as colour, shape, size, and design) and the “pattern core” (the part of the pattern that repeats).  In reading we will work on developing our understanding of a story by focusing on specific vocabulary.  At the end of the week, ask your child to tell you about our “WOW” words – those new words they have learned from our story Sheila Rae, The Brave!  On Thursday we will participate in a “Looking at Pictures” presentation. A volunteer from the National Gallery of Canada will lead us on an interactive journey towards greater art appreciation using a number of visual art reproductions.  A reminder that November homework is due this week.

Ms. Moga Grade 2 Class:

We had a great 4 days last week full of learning! We worked on retelling fictional texts (e.g. The Little Red Hen, and A Pocket for Corduroy). Students are learning that there are four parts to a retell: characters, setting, problem, event (told in order), and a solution. This is something they can practice while reading at home.

This week, we will be wrapping up our science reports on various animals and then looking at the human impact on animals, and animal impact on humans. In math, we will be finishing up graphing by conducting surveys, and showing our data using pictographs, bar graphs, and line plots. In religion, we will continue discussing saints and the Beatitudes, which will take us into the beginning of Advent next week. Finally, in art we are wrapping up with symmetry; the students should be finished their patter block plates this week.

I look forward to another great week in grade 2!

Mrs. Rupnik’s Class

We begin the week with showcasing our class certificate and the St. Anthony Superstars trophy. Last week the Primary Language Class received this award for our teamwork and cooperation. Way to go, boys and girls! I am very proud of you. Would you like to read the class a short story? As mentioned at our Parent-Teacher Conferences, consider dropping me a note in the agenda.  The students love having moms/dads visit and read us a story. This week, we will begin to talk about “saying sorry” using stories from our Room 14 Social Language Program. Please remember that the Ottawa Catholic School Board provides students with access to digital resources to use at home. To access the student portal page, please navigate to St. Anthony Catholic School website page (http://san.ocsb.ca/) and access the student portal page from there.  Homework calendars for the month of November on due back to school on Friday, November 27, 2015.

Mrs. Troccoli’s Grade 4/5 Team News

The last full week of November! Wow! Time flies when you are learning lots!

Our class engaged in wonderful discussions on being a good digital citizen.  We watched videos and completed activities related to our discussions.  The students were extremely focused and brought many thoughtful ideas surrounding this important topic.  We will continue with our digital citizenship lessons this week.

Our math test on Addition and Subtraction is scheduled for Tuesday.  The students have completed review lessons in class and online, using the Nelson Math website. They will be able to demonstrate their understanding and the use of these concepts as they apply them on the test.

The students homework book will be coming home today with a unique assignment enclosed.  They will be preparing for a book talk. They are to choose a chapter book of their choice and at their reading level.  They must read the book and prepare a talk about the book that they will present to the class the week of December 7th.  The details and an outline can be found in their homework duotang that they will be bringing home today. I look forward to hearing all about their chosen book.

Please check our class calendar for upcoming events and due dates of class assignments.

Thank you for your ongoing support!

Together Everyone Achieves More

Have a great week!

Ms. Colaiacovo’s Grade 5/6 Class

As we bid a fond farewell to November next week and anticipate a very busy December, here are are few updates from the grade 5/6 class:
We are finishing up patterning and algebra in Math and will soon begin a study of geometry. Please remind your child that regular review of math concepts at home is essential to their continued learning in class. In Language Arts, we will finish our study of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes and further investigate ways in which we can spread a message of peace to others. We are also completing our Space unit in Science and will move on to Biodiversity in the Understanding Life Systems strand. We have had opportunity to focus on and discuss the importance of being a good digital citizen, and we will finish this great program in the coming week.
This is the last week that we will be attending the Y Kids Academy program. The students and I have enjoyed learning about the benefits of being physically active and the staff at the Y has been amazing!
On December 3, the grade 5/6 class will be holding a “cake auction” to kick off our fundraising efforts for the grade 6 year-end trip. Any and all donations of cakes from you, the 5/6 parent community will be greatly appreciated. More information will follow in a separate letter. In addition, we will be further augmenting our fund-raising by selling popcorn to the students in the school on a bi-monthly basis (alternating Fridays to the pizza days).
As always, if you any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at the school.

Full Day Kindergarten News!  Week of November 9-13th.

Our FDK students enjoyed some of the warmer weather we experienced last week.  We enjoy our time on the big yard from 8:30-8:45 am for both FDK1 and FDK2,  as well as 11:35-12:15 with the whole school.  Our FDK class also spends time outside on the smaller daycare yard from 2:30-2:50pm, weather permitting.  It is great to get outside with our FDK classes and students enjoy this time playing actively, connecting with friends and siblings and also exploring nature, the leaves and sand area!  Thank you for sending warm mitts, hats and jackets as we know colder weather is on the way!!
Students also have scheduled gym times and a weekly visits to the learning commons to visit our librarian, Mrs. Iverson.
We are working on “Teamwork” and showing that we are team players.  We are signing songs about teamwork and showing excellent cooperation and participation in this area!
We will be holding interviews for three days, November 10th, 11th and 12th to make sure we see all of our parents.  We are looking forward to your scheduled visit this week.  Please do not hesitate to contact us if needed at 613-235-0340, if you need to reschedule or change your interview.

Our focus this week will be on Remembrance Day.  We will be attending the ceremony in our school gym and learning the importance of this special day.

Full Day Kindergarten News!  Week of November 16-20th.

Congratulations to FDK1 this week, we are Superstars for the week and we won a trophy to keep in our class for the week.  Students are very motivated by our Superstar award and have shown amazing teamwork, respect, and cooperation.
This week we will begin to learn how we prepare for winter, how animals get ready for winter and the changes that are coming!  We will read stories that focus on this topic such as “Bear Snores On” and singing songs such as “Hibernation, Winter Hibernation!”
Students loved the story about “”If You Give A Mouse a Muffin”.   We will be using this story to start a new unit on Measurement in Math, where students will measure out ingredients to make our own muffins.  We will also start to measure our hands, feet and other items using cubes.  Many hands-on activities make learning fun and interactive.
Thank you for your participation in our Parent-Teacher Interviews.  We enjoyed sharing great information with you about your child and we appreciate your commitment to establishing consistent communication between home and school!
There will be a PD Day on Friday November 20th!  No school for students on this day!  We are looking forward to a great week of learning, cooperating and sharing!

Ms. Myer’s Class

As the “Wonderful Ones” marked Remembrance Day on November 11th, we took the opportunity to think carefully about how each of us can be an instrument of God’s peace. We read the story I Call My Hand Gentle  and the children came up with some great ideas of how they could use their hands in peaceful, positive ways. The coming week is “Bullying Awareness and Prevention” week across schools in Ontario. We will continue to explore the story of the Good Samaritan, thinking of ways we can be like the Samaritan. In math we will focus on sorting objects into groups based on various attributes (i.e. the objects’ colour, size, shape, design, or use). You can reinforce this concept at home by sorting items you have (e.g. toys, socks, kitchen objects) into 2 or 3 groups and asking your child to try to guess what rule you used to sort the objects. Thank you to all parents who took the time to attend their child’s parent-teacher interview last week.   Your insight and feedback is invaluable. We look forward to a short but busy week! Friday, November 20 is a P. D. day – no school for students!

Ms. Moga’s Grade 2 Class

We had another great week in grade 2 with lots of learning taking place! We looked at non-fiction books and discussed the different features such as headings, labels, the index, and captions. This also helped with our animal research assignments in science. In math, we learned about concrete graphs and pictographs.

Friday is a PD day this week; therefore we only have four days of school. We are continuing many of our units. In gym, we will learn another game called “Clean House” and continue to play Newcombe ball. In religion, we will discuss different saints and how they lived their lives like Jesus. In language, we will begin to retell fiction texts using a Go Map graphic organizer (putting our retell into writing). We will continue to read non-fiction texts and use the different features to help us determine what is important. In art, we are continuing to examine symmetry and to produce pieces of art that demonstrate symmetry. Finally, in math we are continuing with graphing; specifically,  we will learn about calendar data and bar graphs.

Mrs. Rupnik’s Class

Thank-you for coming to our scheduled Parent-Teacher Conferences at St. Anthony Catholic School.  Research has shown over and over again that the most successful students have a high percentage of parent involvement.  This week we will continue to work on making connections to better understand stories we read.  A rhyming booklet will be sent on Thursday for homework. Please sit with your child and review the rhyming words in the booklet. Rhyming is important because it helps prepare children for early reading and it also helps to support oral language development. Friday, November 20 is a PD Day and school will be closed.

News from Ms. Manzoli’s  Grade 3/4  class

Thank you to all the parents who were able to come out to parent teacher interviews.  Having the time to discuss your child’s progress is an important part in your child’s learning.  As we move forward, students will be able to continue working on their learning goals for the rest of this term.

Reminder that this week is a short week for the students.  Friday is a PD day for all students and there will be no classes.  Students are working very hard to maintain their stamina during our daily 5 stations during language.  We continue to work on recount writing using the hamburger model for paragraphs.  This week we will begin writing about a favourite event.  In math, we continue with patterns and will look at patterns on grids.  A reminder to check your child’s agendas for instructions on another math program called Mathletics.  Passwords and usernames will be handed out.

This week marks the beginning of Bully Awareness, we will be having several discussions about what makes a bully a bully and how we deal with certain situations.  We will also begin various lessons on Being a good digital citizen where the children will learn how our digital world can be a place where bulliness occurs.  Below you will find the cover a book that we will explore this week.     don't laugh at me      Have a great week.

Mrs. Troccoli’s Grade 4/5 Team News

The students participated in a wonderful school-wide ceremony to commemorate Remembrance Day.  This related directly to the activities the students completed in the classroom.  The students worked cooperatively to create a beautiful poppy cross, that was proudly displayed during the ceremony, and doves that were decorated with ideas of peace. The Grade 4/5 team has an appreciation for how fortunate we are to live in such a peaceful and free country like Canada.

It was great to meet parents during interviews or speak with parents on the phone. Your continued support in your child’s education makes for greater gains in your child’s learning.

Thank you!!

The students will be learning how to be a “Good Digital Citizen” through focussed lessons.  It is important with all the technology that is available to our students that they respect it and use it appropriately and safely. As the week progresses ask your child some of the lessons they have learned on how to be a good Digital Citizen.

Students should continue to read each evening and use Raz Kids to help with reading and comprehension. The students will be having a math test on Addition and Subtraction early next week so they should be practicing these concepts at home.  Nelson Math is a good website they can use for review.

Have a wonderful week!

Ms. Myer’s Class

This week we will explore the story of the Good Samaritan. We will consider the story in light of what it means to be a “citizen” in our world today. On Wednesday, November 11th we will observe Remembrance Day as a school community. The children enjoyed painting poppies (using marshmallows!)  and preparing a  wreath for our assembly.  In math, we will begin a unit on patterning. Thank you to all those families who have returned their child’s report card envelope along with the signed portion of the progress report.  Our interviews will take place on Wednesday, November 11th. I will send home a note confirming our meeting time on Tuesday. If you are unable to keep your scheduled time, please don’t hesitate to contact me to make other arrangements. Looking forward to another busy week with the “Wonderful Ones!”

We had a very busy week in grade 2. On Wednesday, we welcomed Scientists in Schools into our classroom for a presentation on Animal Coverings and Adaptations. The five hands-on centers included shells, feathers, a porcupine, fur, and skin. The students’ journal entries on Thursday said that they enjoyed interacting with all the materials and seeing two live hermit crabs!

In Math this week, we are continuing our unit on graphing. We will be making concrete graphs, and learning about pictographs and bar graphs. In language, we are continuing to work on retelling stories. We will also begin to determine importance with nonfiction texts. This should assist students with their inquiry research of an animal. In gym, the students will be learning how to play Newcombe ball, a variation of volleyball. In art, the students will continue their exploration of symmetry. Finally, in religion, the students will continue listening to numerous bible stories and understanding how to treasure God’s word.

This upcoming week, we will focus on a new ‘thinkmark’ called connections. Students will read and make connections to better understand stories. An example of a text-to-self connection might be, “This story reminds me of a friend that I play with on the weekend. She is kind and nice to me.”  Parent-teacher interviews will take place on Wednesday, November 11th. The interview is very important in that it allows us to review your child’s progress and talk about next steps. Please continue to support your child at home with the November homework calendar.

Mrs. Troccoli’s Grade 4/5 Team News

The Grade 4/5 Team continues to work together to reach new heights!

November is off to a wonderful start and the wonderful weather has given everyone an extra jump in their step!

In Math we are working with larger numbers to solve real-life inquiries using addition and subtraction calculations.  We are also using money amounts in our calculations.  Have your child practice these concepts by calculating the cost of items you buy when shopping or the change you will receive after you pay. Students should also continue to practice their multiplication facts which will help in all strands of the math curriculum.

In Language Arts, the students have been introduced to the reading strategy of Analyzing or Finding the Facts in a text. Ask your child what they have learned from our non-fiction read aloud text, Killer Whales.  This week we will focus on Remembrance Day. The students will have opportunities to read, write and create using this important day as our focus.

I look forward to meeting with parents during our interview evening of November 11 at your scheduled time. The students are reminded to continue to be diligent in completing work to the best of their ability – only their best will do!

We continue to strengthen our team as we learn together!

The grade 5/6 students are keeping busy with all things fall-related.This week, many of our language arts activities will be related to Remembrance Day, in anticipation of our school celebration on Wednesday, November 11.  Parents are invited and encouraged to attend. I also look forward to meeting with many of you on the evening ofNovember 11 for parent-teacher interviews. Big News: the grade 5/6 class was the winner of the “best-dressed” Halloween Door Contest, and students are excited about the impending grand prize pizza lunch! Many of the grade 5/6 students attended and enjoyed the Halloween Party put on by the Parent Council. Thanks to all of you for all your great efforts! The Y Kids Academy program continues to challenge students both physically and academically as we learn about how to lead a healthy lifestyle. We are halfway through the program now, and hope to continue to be blessed with decent weather for our walks to and from the Y. A reminder for students to come dressed for all kinds of weather (layers are good!), as this November has proven to be a bit of an enigma so far. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.

Teacher Notes for this Week

News from FDK English Class.  Ms. Draper

kindergarten 2

What a busy week in Kindergarten!  So many happy students participating in many activities throughout the week.  We carved pumpkins, planted pumpkin seeds in the garden, sang many Halloween songs and decorated our doors for Halloween.  We also took part in a Healthy Eating workshop with our Public Heath Nurse, Bev Wilcox and a Pedestrian Safety workshop in the Learning Commons.  Students loved the story about the “Runaway Pumpkin” and the “Teeny Tiny Ghost”.  We participated in an assembly on “Teamwork” with the whole school.  Congratulations to Brook and Matteo who are our Waste Free Winners for the month.  We will continue to look for students who are using reusable containers for their food and drinks.  We will also encourage all students to bring healthy snacks.  This week we will be using the Jolly Phonics program to learn our letter sounds and letters, we will be patterning many items in Math and getting active in the gym.  We will be sending notes home this week regarding Parent/Teacher Interviews for November 11th and 12th.  Please watch your child’s mailbag for this important note!  We are looking forward to a great week of learning in FDK!

Kindergarten News Ms. Schlesak
Last  week the students had fun counting while making a witch’s brew. They estimated the lines on a pumpkin and designed the face of  jack-o-lantern for the pumpkins in both classes. They also counted and planted pumpkin seeds.  The students also really enjoyed touring the school in their Halloween costumes and engaging with all the other students in the school.

This week a letter will go home indicating the date and time for a parent-teacher interview. Please return the form and let us know if you are able to attend the interview.

Our trip to the Parkdale Market was a great success!  The children enjoyed finding all the healthy ingredients for salad making – and seeing all the painted pumpkins!! Thank you to all those parents who were able to join us for this outing. In the coming week a new homework calendar will go home as well as a November newsletter. A reminder that copies of these items are also posted on the school website.  As Remembrance Day approaches we will be talking about the importance of peace…in our classroom, our school community, and the world. In math, we continue to work on strategies for counting larger quantities – including grouping by fives and tens. This helps build your child’s understanding of place value.  Have a great week!

 Ms Moga’s Grade 2 class

This week we’re working towards some new and exciting learning goals. In language, we will begin retelling and determining importance when reading nonfiction texts. In math, we are beginning our unit on patterning. In science, we are very lucky to have Scientists in School visiting us on Wednesday! This will include a short presentation and five exploration stations that tie into the Growth and Changes in Animals unit. In physical education, we are beginning to work on ball manipulation skills. Finally, in religion, we begin a new theme. We will be reading and discussing the story of the Good Samaritan this week.

Last week, the grade 2s welcomed me into their class. I want to thank everyone who made me feel welcome or answered a question I had about my new classroom and school. We read and wrote about Halloween, as well as investigated a pumpkin. We looked and felt inside, described it, measured how tall it was, how many lines it had, and how many seeds it had. The final tally was 395!

You can now follow our learning on Twitter. Follow me @MogaOttawa !

I look forward to another great week in grade 2!

Here is the link to Ms. Rupnik’s October newsletter.

This week in the Primary Language Class, we will continue our Social Language activities with Room 14, focusing on the theme of caring and sharing. This Room 14 program presents students with common social situations, many of which take place in the classroom. Through personal stories and role-playing, students discuss possible solutions. Please take the time this week to read our October class newsletter and the article titled “Reading At Home… Can Make a Huge Difference!” sent home on Friday. The new November homework calendars will be sent home on Monday, November 2, 2015. This school year we are not running a formal Guest Reader program in our class. However, if you are interested and have a small amount of time to spare (about 10 minutes), consider dropping me a note in the agenda.  The students love having moms/dads visit and read us a story.

Mrs. Manzoli’s Class this week…

Welcome to November!  Our focus this week will be Remembering as we prepare our hearts and mind for Remembrance Day on November 11th.  This week the students will also be bringing home their progress reports.  Please take the time to review your child’s progress.  Progress happens when there is a strong connection between school and home.  Progress interviews will happen on November 11th, watch for scheduled time coming home with reports.

In Language this week we will begin guided reading groups.  We have covered our last “Daily 5 station last week “working with words”.  Students will be able to choose one of the five stations while the teacher works with a small group of children.  Spelling words will now consists of 10 words a week with activities to complete for homework.  Reminder: quizzes are scheduled every two weeks.  Students should also continue reading at home in conjunction with Razkids.  We have started paragraph writing, an important skill to prepare the Grade 3’s for EQAO.  Students will also be completing a writing task each week for homework where they will practice writing a paragraph, stay tuned.

In Math, we continue with patterns.  Some of the math words they should know when explaining patterns are Core and attribute.

Reminder that homework is due on Wednesdays.

Have a great week : )

Ms. Colaiacovo’s class Blog:
The grade 5/6 students are working hard and preparing for more exciting learning opportunities during the month of November with particular emphasis on Remembrance Day. Along with our regular curriculum studies, we are continuing with our visits to the Y Kids Academy program. We are also investigating fundraising ideas for our end-of-year school trip for the grade 6 students. More information will follow very soon regarding possible dates for a bake sale or cake auction. I look forward to meeting with parents at the November 11 parent-teacher interview sessions to discuss your child’s progress thus far. Thanks for your continued support!
